Dr. Sarah Toton is the Director of Data Forensics at Caveon, where she leads a team of data engineers and forensic scientists. Together, they perform complex test security analyses and produce detailed statistical reports for a wide array of clients across the education, medical, legal, and technology sectors. With a PhD in Quantitative Psychology, Sarah brings a strong background in Item Response Theory and a creative approach to tackling the challenges of an area with many unknown factors. Her exceptional work in combining machine learning and IRT estimates for data forensics analysis earned her the prestigious Benjamin D. Wright Innovations in Measurement Award. Her current research focuses on identifying predictors of item compromise and examinee pre-knowledge, particularly those based on item response time statistics. Sarah regularly presents her work at the Conference of Test Security and is an active member of the National Council of Measurement in Education and the Association of Test Publishers, where she is a sought-after presenter for her ability to simplify even the most complex topics.
