About Us: The Caveon data forensics team analyzes millions of test instances a year for all kinds of clients, including medical boards, tech companies, state departments of education, and more. Processing a variety of data through the same automated system provides a unique set of challenges, as does providing customized analysis solutions for every client. Location: Remote work with some travel for training and team collaboration

Hours: Full Time at 40 hours/week (Category: Exempt)

Reports to: Chief Scientist

Physical Demands: Minimal

Drug Screens: Pre-employment and possible random screens

Knowledge/Skills/Ability:

  • Strong Python skills
  • Mathematical/statistical skills including calculus, probability, and combinatorics
  • Creative problem solver who can think critically and develop data engineering solutions
  • Effective at communicating technical details remotely
  • Meticulous attention to detail and documentation
  • Ability to work independently within complex systems
  • Knowledge of C or C++, VB script or C# for automation within Microsoft Office, and the Windows operating system preferred
  • Data analysis and data visualization skills preferred

General Summary of Responsibility:

  • Write, launch, and monitor scripts for automated:
    • conversion of data formats,
    • processing of data, and
    • creation of Excel outputs based on the results
  • Meticulously verify data correctness and formatting
  • Collaborate remotely with clients and team members to understand data
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of applied experience in distributed data processing, systems design, or other relevant area
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field preferred
