Salt Lake City, Utah – Caveon Test Security, in conjunction with the Certification Network Group and other sponsors, is pleased to sponsor “Credentialing the Military”, an event focused on how the credentialing industry can take advantage of government initiatives and help veterans of the armed services acquire the skills necessary to transition to positions in the civilian workforce. The event is scheduled to take place on March 15, 2017 in Alexandria, Virginia.
The event will specifically focus on the National Defense Authorization Act of 2017, which has been amended concerning the types of credentials that can be paid for by the branches of the United States Military. It has broadened the necessary criteria, and made it easier for the military to expand which credentials it will pay for. Over one million United States Military Service members expected to leave the Service and seek civilian employment over the next four years. Current trends show that employment rates for veterans is high, and both the Department of Defense and the civilian employers are committed to providing the skills necessary for these men and women to successfully transition to a new career. Obtaining occupational certifications and credentials is one of the key methods for facilitating this transition, and the need for certifications will continue to increase. This event will help unpack how the assessment industry can meet this need.
The Keynote speaker at this event is Lisa Lutz, President and CEO of SOLID LLC, with over 20 years of experience in policy analysis and program evaluation, including over fifteen years specializing in education, employment and training issues related to service members and government.
“We’re thrilled for the opportunity to sponsor the CNG event,” says Ben Hunter, Director of Sales and Project Management for Caveon’s Technology team. “This is an important topic for the future of testing, and one that deserves increased attention among those of us working in this industry. In addition, this is a valuable opportunity to continue building personal relationships with our peers. I look forward to hearing the speakers on how we as an industry can help this vital segment of our population, and the opportunity to continue to create and foster an environment of collaboration. Caveon is proud to help provide a space and opportunity bring our colleagues and friends together, build relationships, share ideas, and move our industry forward.”
