Caveon Teams up with Girls Who Code

February 23, 2017

For immediate release

Salt Lake City, Utah – Caveon Test Security is pleased to announce that it will again be hosting a “Women in Testing” reception at the 2017 Association of Test Publishers (ATP) Conference. This pre-ATP event will be held Sunday, March 5, at 4:30pm in the Caveon Suite, and is an opportunity for women in the industry to celebrate their success, toast the future, and meet and network with other like-minded testing professionals.

“This is an important event for us at Caveon,” says Jamie Mulkey. “It is a tradition that was started years ago at ATP, and one that we still support and promote. It is a valuable opportunity to connect, network, and support the women in this field.”

The theme of this year’s event is “Shoesium: Viewing Shoes as Art”, and will include refreshments while enjoying the designs, construction, colors and elements of women’s shoes.

Importantly, the event will feature works of art (shoe art, that is) from the Girls Who Code club at American River College in Sacramento, California. As part of the club’s community service project, these high-school aged female coders are creating colorful works of art on canvas tennis shoes and developing a website to showcase their artistic creations. They will also be donating the colorful shoes to the local charity, Mustard Seed School and asking others to donate fantastic shoe creations as well. The first stop on their artful shoe tour is none other than the Caveon Shoesium.

Caveon is thrilled with the opportunity to support and promote this wonderful organization. As Ben Hunter, Caveon’s Technology Product Manager and Sales Director says, “Coding is such a fundamental skill for the development of technology products and services, and will be vital to the future of the testing industry. We’re supportive of educational institutions and organizations such as Girls Who Code that promote this critical knowledge base for the future”.

We hope you will stop by our suite at 4:30 on March 5th to see these beautiful shoes, enjoy refreshments, and socialize before the official start of the ATP conference.
